Job summary

BryceTech is seeking a Spectrum Engineer to support the Space Development Agency (SDA) in acquiring and deploying space-based communications and transport capabilities. You will manage spectrum certification, frequency plans, and API packages while coordinating with DoD, NASA, and other stakeholders.

The role requires hands-on experience with DoD spectrum processes, NTIA/ITU regulations, and tools like EL-CID, E2ESS, and Stepstone. A TS/SCI clearance and 5+ years of related work are expected.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in spectrum management and the spectrum authorization process.
• Experience with DD Form 1494 preparation and coordination.
• Experience with DoD/federal spectrum management processes.
• Ability to possess and maintain a Secret clearance.
• Working knowledge of RF systems and spectrum-dependent communications.
• Ability to communicate effectively with government, contractor, industry, and external stakeholders.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support spectrum certification and authorization for SDA space and ground systems.
• Develop and coordinate DD Form 1494 requests through review processes.
• Use NTIA and DoD tools like EL-CID, E2ESS, Stepstone.
• Develop frequency plans per NTIA Redbook and ITU regs.
• Submit API packages to support ITU coordination and protection.
• Analyze RF interference and electromagnetic compatibility for SDA systems.
• Coordinate with spectrum users to resolve interference and mitigation.
• Follow NTIA Redbook footnotes and DoD requirements.
• Coordinate with NASA-DoD-DoC and NTIA SPS groups.
• Coordinate with AFSMO, NMSC, SSC SMO.
• Apply RF fundamentals to ground terminals.
• Analyze spectrum requirements for space and ground architectures.
• Provide technical support for SDA satellites and ground systems.
• Develop analyses, reports, briefings for government/leadership.
• Participate in technical meetings with stakeholders.
• Track spectrum actions and work to approvals.
• Provide additional spectrum management, RF engineering support.
