Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Manager – Electro-Mechanical Design 2 to lead a group of 12–16 Mechanical Engineers in Linthicum, MD. The role spans design, development, fabrication, and test of space sensor hardware with life-cycle program involvement.

Ideal candidates have a STEM degree with 9+ years of experience (or MS with 7+; PhD with 4+), strong leadership, and the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance. Relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 9+ years of engineering experience, or MS with 7+ years, or PhD with 4+ years.
• Experience with mechanical design and analysis tools.
• Excellent verbal, organizational and written communication skills.
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on a piece of a larger program.
• supervise teams, manage performance, staffing, and development.
• Oversee electro-mechanical sub system design and fabrication activities.
• Support recruitment, skills development, and program management collaboration.
• Maintain design processes and contribute to proposals for external customers.
