Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Electronics and Payload groups seek a Manager – Electro-Mechanical Design 2 in Linthicum, MD. You will lead a team of 12–16 mechanical engineers across design, development, fabrication, and test of space sensor hardware, aligning with customer requirements and program goals.

You will guide full lifecycle activities, mentor engineers, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver robust electro-mechanical solutions for space programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline with 9+ years of engineering experience, or a Master with 7+ years, or PhD with 4+ years.
• Excellent verbal, organizational, and written communication skills.
• Experience with mechanical design and analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for electro-mechanical sub-system design and fabrication activities.
• Oversee staffing, performance management, and career development within the group.
• Lead or support department initiatives, recruiting, and technology roadmap creation.
• Develop proposal inputs and review content for internal and external customers.
• Coordinate with program management to balance staffing with business goals.
