Job summary

RTX in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Software Engineer II with embedded development experience to join our Space and RF Sensors team.

You will design, develop, test, and maintain software for aerospace and defense applications, translating requirements into robust designs and collaborating with systems, hardware, and cross‑functional teams. This onsite role requires a STEM degree and security clearance; the salary range for the position is 75,800 to 144,200 USD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 2 years of software experience.
• Experience in programming languages such as C++, Java, Python.
• Experience with Git for version control.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software for aerospace and defense applications, ensuring robust functionality and reliability.
• Analyze and translate system requirements into detailed software specifications and designs.
• Implement, test, and debug software solutions to meet project requirements and quality standards.
• Collaborate with systems engineering, hardware engineering, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal system performance.
• Participate in code reviews, testing procedures, and continuous improvement efforts to enhance software quality and development practices.
• Document software designs, test results, and troubleshooting processes for future reference.
• Work onsite in El Segundo, CA.
