Job summary

Raytheon in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Software Engineer II with embedded development experience to join the Space and RF Sensors team onsite. You will design, develop, test, and maintain software for aerospace and defense programs, translating requirements into detailed software designs and implementing solutions to meet strict reliability standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 years of software experience.
• Proficiency in C++, Java, Python or similar.
• Experience with software testing and debugging tools.
• Experience using version control tools like Git.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. government clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software for aerospace and defense applications with robust functionality and reliability.
• Analyze and translate system requirements into software specifications and designs.
• Implement, test, and debug software to meet project requirements and quality standards.
• Collaborate with systems and hardware engineering and cross-functional teams for seamless integration.
• Participate in code reviews, testing procedures, and continuous improvement of software quality.
