Job summary

Amentum seeks an Air Controller to support Space Force Western Range operations in the United States. You will coordinate airspace, interface with test conductors, and assist with pre-launch tests and aeronautical experiments.

The role requires an associate degree or equivalent, at least three years of air controller experience, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or two-year certificate in Aviation Management or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years of air controller experience or training.
• Experience with automated Air Control and Surveillance Systems in a military environment.
• Graduate of USAF Air Weapons Controller/Manager or USN Air Intercept course or equivalent.
• Willingness to work occasional non-duty hours or weekends.
• Strong verbal skills and ability to translate requirements into action plans.
• Must obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).

Responsibilities

• Controls Western Range airspace and air assets for daily tasking, pre-launch tests, and aeronautical tests.
• Interfaces with Test Conductors and range instrumentation; coordinates with Air Force and government representatives.
• Assists in resolving conflicts between support elements and range resources during pre-launch operational testing.
• Performs positive aircraft vectoring, air intercept control, and general airspace surveillance.
• Supports launch operations in Air Controller positions; performs log keeping and scheduling of range assets.
