Job summary

KBR in Chantilly, VA is seeking an Operations Engineer (Space) to contribute to space protection operations by providing mission expertise and shaping tools for operators. The role partners with software engineers, supports 24/7 operations, and guides deployment of capabilities while ensuring system documentation and training materials are accurate.

Candidates must hold a STEM degree, have active TS/SCI with Polygraph, 9+ years of relevant experience, and familiarity with IC/DoD space

Qualifications

Active TS/SCI security clearance with Polygraph.
Bachelor of Science in a STEM field required.
Minimum nine years of relevant technical experience.
Experience in IC or DoD space acquisitions or mission operations.
Experience deploying and sustaining software in a 24/7 operations center.

Responsibilities

Provides space protection operations mission expertise to acquisition managers and software engineers.
Elicits system capability needs and UI/UX preferences from operational users.
Collaborates with software developers to guide mission application enhancements.
Manages the transition of new capabilities to operations.
Leads review and coordination of system documentation and training materials.
Evaluates developer solutions, guides deployment activities, and assesses patches.
