Job summary

KBR, Inc. is seeking a Mission Engineer (Space) to join the National Security Solutions team, focusing on space protection concepts, system requirements, and verification testing for government IC customers.

The SME role coordinates with developers, end users, and SPOs to deploy new capabilities into space operations. The position requires active TS/SCI with poly, a STEM degree, 8+ years in government programs, and experience with space/ground software systems and SDA.

Qualifications

Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
Bachelor of Science in a STEM field.
8+ years in Government acquisition program offices.
Experience in government system engineering disciplines (requirements, readiness, testing).
Experience developing/ testing space and/or ground software systems.
Familiarity with Space Domain Awareness (SDA) systems/operations.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with external SPOs to define space protection concepts and interfaces.
Advocate for enterprise capability needs in developer groups and internal forums.
Shape strategy with engineering and acquisition trades within budget and priorities.
Oversee software development and deployment of ground processing systems for space.
Collaborate with SMEs to develop technical plans and document progress for stakeholders.
Produce materials showing SPO development progress for oversight events.
Support contracting and developers to refine requirements and testing capabilities.
