Job summary

Aramark is seeking a Space Planner within the Global Real Estate & Workplace Strategy (GREWS) team to translate workplace strategy, headcount requirements, and occupancy data into practical space solutions across New York and the Firm’s portfolio.

You will lead blocking plans, seating layouts, restack plans, and coordination with architects, furniture vendors, Facilities, IT, and service partners to ensure standards and efficient utilization.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience in space, workplace, interior, facilities planning, or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of office planning, furniture systems, workstation configurations, density and usability.
  • Ability to develop, review, and interpret test fits, blocking and stacking plans, and move/restack plans.

Responsibilities

  • Translate workplace strategy, headcount forecasts, Firm standards, and business requirements into test fits, blocking plans, seating layouts, restack plans, and capacity scenarios.
  • Evaluate existing and proposed workplace configurations to improve utilization, density, functionality, collaboration, accessibility, and operational efficiency.
  • Support long-range and scenario planning for growth, contraction, department relocations, practice-group adjacencies, swing space, and portfolio optimization.
  • Support furniture planning for offices, workstations, collaboration areas, shared spaces, touchdown areas, and other workplace environments.
  • Coordinate with architects, furniture vendors, project teams, Facilities, IT, and service partners to develop practical, standard-aligned planning solutions.
  • Review furniture inventories, vendor drawings, and planning documentation to identify reuse, relocation, reconfiguration, supplementation, or cost-effective solutions.
  • Maintain consistency with workplace standards, space entitlements, planning guidelines, accessibility requirements, and broader real estate objectives.
  • Develop executable move and restack plans for individual, departmental, practice-group, multi-floor, and phased relocations.
  • Translate approved seating strategies into move plans, including sequencing, phasing, furniture needs, physical dependencies, and swing-space requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Workplace Planning & Operations Coordinator and operational partners to support arrivals, departures, renovations, relocations, and workplace transitions.
  • Identify conflicts involving furniture, construction, technology, storage, circulation, seating availability, or building constraints before implementation.
  • Coordinate with the Space Analyst and Workplace Planning & Operations Coordinator to align floor plans, occupancy records, seating assignments, IWMS data, and field conditions.
  • Validate plans after moves, construction, furniture changes, or restacks and support capacity audits, utilization analysis, forecasting, and portfolio decision-making.
  • Provide defined backup coverage for urgent seating changes, scheduled arrivals and departures, move coordination, planning updates, and flex-space assignments as needed.

Job Description

The Space Planner serves as a key planning and execution resource within the Global Real Estate & Workplace Strategy (GREWS) team, translating workplace strategy, headcount requirements, business needs, and occupancy data into practical space solutions that support utilization, portfolio optimization, business continuity, and informed decision‑making. While New York is the primary area of direct support, the role provides regional planning assistance across the Firm’s portfolio, helps maintain consistent workplace standards, leads defined physical‑planning workstreams, coordinates planning inputs with GREWS partners, and provides operational and move‑related backup to reduce key‑person dependency within the workplace planning function.

Compensation Data

COMPENSATION: The Hourly rate for this position is $36.00 to $40.00. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer. This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

  • Ability to develop, review, and interpret test fits, blocking and stacking plans, furniture layouts, floor plans, and move/restack plans.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and project‑coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple planning initiatives and explain constraints, options, and tradeoffs.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced professional environment with changing priorities, headcount needs, seating requirements, and implementation timelines.

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective equipment (PPE).
