Job summary

Varda Space Industries in Los Angeles, CA, offers a Spring internship with the payload team to design, build, test, and operate Varda's in-space manufacturing and reentry testbed payloads. You will apply your programming, mechatronics, and fabrication skills to deliver flight electromechanical hardware under mentorship from aerospace professionals.

Internships are full-time and on-site. Eligibility requires enrollment in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program; prior internship or co-op

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar.
• Experience with mechanical CAD (NX preferred).
• Experience designing, building, and/or operating electromechanical hardware.
• Basic programming skills in at least one language (Python preferred).
• Comfort using hand tools and interest in fabricating parts.

Responsibilities

• Own or contribute to hardware or software design to support development of spacecraft or payload.
• Create or support test campaigns and build test stands.
• Perform necessary analysis to support development and testing.
