Job summary

Varda Space Industries in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a Spring 2027 Flight Software Internship. You will contribute to the software powering missions across ground, flight, and embedded systems; build tools and services to help engineers monitor, command, and analyze spacecraft.

Internships are full-time and on-site, require active enrollment in an accredited degree program, and offer exposure to real-time embedded development, concurrency, and safety-critical software.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in C++.
• Experience with embedded systems or microcontrollers.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and operating systems.
• Ability to debug complex software and work in Linux environments.
• Familiarity with concurrency, networking, performance and reliability.
• Exposure to real-time embedded development or safety-critical software.

Responsibilities

• Pair with mentors across Mission Software, Flight Software, and Embedded Systems.
• Build Python and/or C++ tools and libraries interfacing with flight and ground systems.
• Debug issues crossing OS, networking, timing, and hardware–software boundaries.
• Collaborate across teams and communicate clearly.
