Job summary

AV in Albuquerque, NM seeks a Space Tech Senior Manufacturing and Process Engineer to develop and sustain production processes for precision optical and electromechanical space systems. You will lead process development, mentor engineers, and drive quality, yield, and delivery improvements.

Partner with design, optical, quality, and supply chain teams to translate requirements into repeatable processes, supporting NPI, production readiness, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 3–7 years of relevant manufacturing or process engineering experience.
• Experience developing and sustaining processes for precision optical, optomechanical products.
• Hands-on experience with delicate component handling and precision assembly.
• Ability to obtain DoD clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, validate, and sustain assembly, integration, alignment, and test processes for space optical systems.
• Lead manufacturing readiness from prototype through design transfer and production transition.
• Review designs for manufacturability, tolerance, and serviceability.
• Establish contamination and handling controls for delicate optics and coatings.
• Design fixtures, alignment tooling, and test equipment for repeatable assembly.
• Support first article inspections, capability studies, and qualification testing.
