Job summary

VideoRay seeks a Space Tech Senior Manufacturing and Process Engineer to lead development and optimization of precision optical/electromechanical manufacturing for space applications. You will partner across engineering disciplines to translate requirements into repeatable production processes and mentor staff.

You will oversee process development, qualification builds, and production transfer, while improving quality, yield, cost, and delivery in a high-reliability environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Optical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 3–7 years of relevant manufacturing or process engineering experience.
• Experience developing and sustaining processes for precision optical/electromechanical products.
• Experience with design-for-manufacturability and cross-functional projects.
• Ability to interpret drawings, GD&T, BOMs, and test requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, validate, and sustain assembly and test processes for space optical systems.
• Lead manufacturing readiness from prototype to production transition.
• Review designs for manufacturability and tolerance strategies.
• Establish handling, cleaning, packaging, and contamination controls.
• Develop bonding and curing processes with fixtures and verifications.
• Create and maintain work instructions, process specs, and routings.
• Support PFMEA and control plans; drive corrective actions.
