Job summary

QTS Realty Trust is seeking a Space Planner to design, analyze, and optimize interior layouts using CAD or BIM tools, with a focus on occupancy planning and data-driven recommendations.

You will collaborate with facilities, IWMS teams, and stakeholders across locations, produce space plans, maintain data integrity, and support audits and move sequencing as part of a dynamic workplace program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in interior design or architecture or related field.
• 2–5 years of design, corporate space and occupancy planning experience.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD; working knowledge of Revit/BIM preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite and Excel (pivot tables, Vlookup, formulas).
• Experience with IWMS/CAFM platforms (Nuvolo, WSD, Archibus, Centerstone).
• Ability to generate and interpret occupancy reports with advanced Excel skills.
• Strong organizational skills and data integrity.
• Ability to work with internal clients, collaborate, multitask, and solve problems.
• Strong project management, communication, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with interior space layouts, including floor plans and test fits using CAD/BIM.
• Identify and recommend space optimization opportunities with cross‑functional teams.
• Analyze space utilization, headcount forecasts, and seating to develop occupancy plans.
• Provide data‑driven recommendations to support growth and workplace performance.
• Monitor occupancy trends and opportunities for efficiency improvements.
• Enter and maintain space, occupancy, headcount data in IWMS systems.
• Maintain data quality and adherence to standards.
• Update space records and resolve discrepancies per workflows.
• Identify space conflicts and ensure timely resolution and compliance.
• Support planning across multiple locations and audits/space validation.
• Partner with facilities, IWMS teams, and stakeholders to align planning.
• Produce presentations for internal stakeholder reviews.
• Collaborate on move and relocation sequencing and execution.
• Other duties as assigned.
