Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Space Protection Mission Engineer to support the U.S. Space and Intelligence Community. The role focuses on coordinating with the System Program Office and development contractors to deploy protection capabilities into space operations.

The position requires TS/SCI clearance with Poly and extensive experience in government systems engineering, including requirements development, testing, and integration of space/ground software. Candidates with SDA familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Poly is required.
• Experience in Government System Engineering disciplines, including requirements development.
• Experience developing, testing, or fielding space or ground software systems.
• Familiarity with SDA systems, activities, or operations helps.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with external SPOs to define space protection concepts of operations and interfaces.
• Advocate for enterprise capability needs at developer and SPO forums.
• Shape strategy with engineering and acquisition trades within budgets and priorities.
• Provide SPO technical oversight for ground processing software integrated with space systems.
• Collaborate with SMEs to produce technical plans and progress materials for oversight.
• Support contracting reps and developers to refine requirements, designs, and tests.
