Job summary

Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Systems Engineer for the Space Imaging team. You will define active EO/IR architectures, perform radiometric modeling, and lead small engineering teams from concept to system definition and development.

You will leverage MATLAB/Python and industry tools (MODTRAN, SPIRITS, AFSIM) to model performance, test in lab and field, and collaborate with hardware, software, and mission teams to deliver high‑precision spaceborne sensing systems.

Qualifications

• Model development and validation in remote sensing domains.
• Decompose complex systems into parts with defined interfaces and requirements.
• Experience from concept through test and delivery to customer.
• Strong lab skills: rapid prototyping and DOE; familiarity with opto-electrical test equipment.
• Willingness to travel; ability to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Define system architectures via detailed trade studies and analyses.
• Derive physics-based models of sensor performance and derive requirements.
• Develop prototype sensor systems in a lab environment.
• Support laboratory and field experiments and demonstrations.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and mission teams to deliver high-performance systems.
• Validate models against lab and real-world data.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
