Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Systems Engineer for the Space Imaging team to define active EO/IR system architectures, perform radiometric performance modeling, and lead small teams from concept to development.

You will validate models with lab and field data, collaborate across hardware and software groups, and apply MATLAB/Python alongside MODTRAN, SPIRITS and AFSIM in a fast-paced defense environment. US security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Model development and validation in remote sensing contexts.
• Ability to decompose complex systems into defined interfaces and requirements.
• Experience from concept through test and delivery to customer.
• Strong lab skills and familiarity with opto-electrical test equipment.
• Willingness to travel to test sites; ability to obtain US security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Define system architectures via detailed trade studies and analyses.
• Adapt physics-based models of sensor performance and derive requirements.
• Develop prototype sensor systems in a lab environment.
• Support laboratory-based and field-based experiments and demonstrations.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and mission teams to deliver high-performance systems.
• Validate models against lab and real-world data.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders across tech backgrounds.
