Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Systems Engineer for the Space Imaging team to define EO/IR system architectures, perform radiometric performance modeling, and lead components from concept through development. The role involves lab and field testing, plus collaboration with hardware, software, and mission teams to deliver high-performance space sensors.

You should have hands-on experience with MATLAB or Python, and familiarity with EO/IR modeling tools (MODTRAN, SPIRITS, AFSIM).

Qualifications

• Track record of modeling and validating remote sensing systems
• Ability to decompose complex systems into functional interfaces
• Experience in system design from concept to delivery
• Strong lab skills and familiarity with opto-electrical test equipment
• Willingness to travel to test sites
• Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance

Responsibilities

• Define system architectures via detailed trade studies and analyses.
• Adapt physics-based models of sensor performance and derive requirements.
• Develop prototype sensor systems in a lab environment.
• Support laboratory and field experiments and demonstrations.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and mission teams to deliver high-performance systems.
• Validate models against data from lab and field tests.
• Coordinate with external and internal stakeholders with varying technical backgrounds.
