Job summary

Mclaurin Aerospace seeks a CMSS Software Engineer to join the JETS II contract team at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. The role focuses on software components for exercise equipment and life-support health countermeasures in microgravity environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
• Experience developing software applications
• Proficiency with Linux
• GUI development experience
• Proficiency in C/C++
• Experience communicating with hardware for sensors and actuators
• Scripting with Python (pandas and numpy)
• Database querying with SQL (InfluxDB, Postgres)
• Troubleshooting software integration issues
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to prioritize tasks and learn new technologies
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools

Responsibilities

• Support software components of exercise equipment and new equipment like a heart rate monitor used on future spacecraft missions
• Help with health of astronauts in reduced gravity environments
• Develop software applications and adapt software for robotic devices; GUI development
• Develop sensors/health countermeasure software concepts
• Generate and maintain software for human spaceflight scenarios; review design and implementation artifacts
• Perform system integration, testing, and coordinate testing/verification duties
• Perform other duties as required
