Job summary

Mclaurin Aerospace in Houston, TX is seeking a Research Software Engineer to join our JETS II contract team at NASA Johnson Space Center. You will collaborate with FSL users, optimize software development, and contribute to flight software, guidance and navigation.

The role requires a BS in engineering or computer science with 4–10 years of software experience, strong Linux, Git, CI/CD, and HPC skills, plus the ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and mentor junior

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and 5–10 years of related experience.
• BS in computer science or engineering with 4+ years of software experience.
• Experience with multiple programming languages and build systems like GNU Make.
• Version control (Git), containers, and CI/CD experience.
• Ability to work in a dynamic team and in HPC environments.

Responsibilities

• Partner with FSL Users to evaluate and optimize software development practices.
• Plan and contribute to software engineering efforts for flight software and analysis.
• Work with partners and contractors to meet software requirements and fix bugs.
• Mentor others in good software development and HPC practices.
