Job summary

Astranis is seeking an Environmental Test Engineer Associate for a 12-week Winter 2027 program in Northern California. Associates work on challenging hardware/software test projects on spacecraft and may transition to full‑time roles.

You will design, set up, and run environmental tests, operate TVAC and vibration equipment, learn test instrumentation, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on hardware and software for space missions.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Hands-on hardware development in fast-paced environments.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize time effectively.
• Strong communication skills.
• Familiarity with spacecraft systems and operation.
• Onsite 5 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Interdisciplinary team design, build, and test satellite hardware and software.
• Operate and set up environmental test equipment including TVAC, vibration tables, EMI/EMC equipment.
• Learn to use test equipment and instruments to execute test plans.
• Set up, operate, and conduct environmental testing including vibration, acoustics, thermal, TVAC, RF.
