Job summary

Xona is seeking a Materials & Inventory Specialist in Burlingame, CA to support R&D, satellite manufacturing, and contract partners. You will coordinate flight hardware, electronic components, and kits from receiving through inventory, production, and shipment.

You will work with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Production, and contract manufacturers to ensure materials are available, traceable, and delivered for prototype and low-rate production schedules.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of materials, inventory, production control, or related experience in high-reliability manufacturing.
• Experience with PCBA manufacturing or external contract manufacturers preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic components handling, BOMs, lot/date codes, moisture-sensitive components.
• Experience with ERP/MRP and ISO 9001/AS9100 familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming receiving processes for hardware, components, materials, including quantity verification and three-way match support.
• Inspect incoming hardware and materials for damage, discrepancies, and traceability documentation.
• Maintain accurate inventory records for flight hardware and production materials, including serialized and revision-controlled items.
• Coordinate material requirements for PCBA builds with Supply Chain, Engineering, and external partners.
• Prepare and issue electronic component kits for PCBA assembly with proper part numbers and BOM alignment.
• Track and reconcile consigned inventory at external suppliers and manage shortages/excess material.
• Kit and issue inventory to internal teams per BOMs and production needs.
• Maintain 5S/ESD-compliant inventory locations and support cycle counts and discrepancy investigations.
• Support material configuration changes, nonconforming-material dispositions, and movement of inventory.
• Coordinate movement of hardware and kits across cleanrooms, warehouses, production areas, and suppliers.
• Pack and crate outgoing shipments and prepare shipping documentation; operate lifting equipment as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve inventory controls and ERP/MRP processes as production scales.
