Job summary

Xona Space seeks a Materials & Inventory Specialist to support R&D, satellite manufacturing, and contract partners. You will manage flight hardware and electronic components from receipt through inventory, kitting, and shipment, ensuring traceability and on-time delivery for prototype and low-rate production.

You will collaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, and external manufacturers to optimize material flow, manage PCBA consignments, and maintain accurate records in ERP/MRP

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of materials, inventory, production control, supply chain operations, or related experience in high-reliability manufacturing.
• Experience supporting PCBA manufacturing, electronics production, or external contract manufacturers.
• Familiarity with electronic component handling, including part numbers and date/lot codes.
• Experience with BOMs, work orders, kit lists, and production schedules.
• Experience with inventory transactions, cycle counts, material issuance, receiving, and reconciliation.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality-management systems.
• Understanding of domestic and international shipping requirements and Incoterms.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple material requirements across teams.
• Excellent communication across Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, and Production teams.
• Ability to identify material risks and drive resolutions with stakeholders.
• Willingness to adapt to evolving program needs and scale-up of systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming receiving processes for hardware, electronic components, and materials with verification and documentation.
• Inspect incoming hardware and materials for damage, quantity discrepancies, and traceability.
• Maintain accurate inventory records for serialized, lot-controlled, and revision-controlled materials.
• Coordinate material requirements for PCBA builds with Supply Chain and external partners.
• Prepare and issue electronic component kits for PCBA assembly with BOM traceability.
• Track and reconcile consigned inventory at external suppliers and manage shortages and returns.
• Kit and issue inventory to internal teams per BOMs and production needs.
• Maintain organized inventory locations in line with 5S, ESD, and other requirements.
• Perform cycle counts and investigate discrepancies; support corrective actions.
• Coordinate movement of hardware and kits between cleanrooms, warehouses, and suppliers.
• Pack and crate outgoing shipments with proper shipping documentation.
• Operate lifting equipment and ensure safe handling practices.
