Job summary

CesiumAstro in Austin, TX is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I to scale high‑reliability satellite electronics. You will work with internal teams and contract manufacturers to design, analyze, and implement manufacturing processes that meet stringent quality and throughput requirements.

The role requires a BS in a engineering field and hands‑on experience with DFx/DFM, IPC‑A‑610/J‑STD‑001, and supplier management.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering
• Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) of electronics hardware
• Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001
• Experience with manufacturing processes, change management, nonconformance documentation, root cause analysis, corrective action systems, and acceptance criteria
• Experience with cost analysis, managing suppliers, and configuration management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Manufacture CesiumAstro’s electronic assemblies for satellites and aerospace platforms
• Collaborate with internal teams and contract manufacturers to industrialize space products
• Perform technical manufacturing analysis, process optimization, and DFM decisions
• Maintain supplier reviews and manufacturing process documentation
