Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC seeks a Manufacturing Tooling & Test Equipment Design Engineer to design, develop, and deploy tooling for PCBA, battery packs, and assemblies, supporting production readiness.

The role requires strong mechanical design fundamentals, hands-on prototyping, and the ability to translate requirements into reliable production equipment. You will collaborate with manufacturing partners and mentor junior engineers in a fast-paced, high-reliability environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures.
• Experience in manufacturing, process, or industrial engineering.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical fabrication, machining, assembly, prototyping, and equipment troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Define hardware requirements and specifications, design components with CAD, and validate designs through prototyping and testing to optimize performance, cost, and reliability.
• Lead larger projects by breaking complex systems into sub-components and coordinating parallel development efforts.
• Create comprehensive test plans that validate hardware designs and address system integration challenges, including FMEA for reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and manufacturing partners to drive products from prototype through production readiness.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers and contribute to design reviews to improve product delivery and safety.
