Job summary

Amazon Leo is a defense-oriented initiative to connect a constellation of LEO satellites with US Government customers, designing APIs and interfaces for mission-critical space safety and sustainability software. This role builds out robust services that coordinate with external systems and organizations at scale.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, scaling) of systems.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Interface with the Leo network team to develop APIs and enabling interface software for government customers.
• Demonstrate interfaces and architectures in a simulated test environment you help develop.
• Solve complex technical problems related to the Leo constellation for government customers as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Contribute to internal and vendor teams to deliver on software and interface requirements.
• Ensure systems meet Leo and US Government performance needs including availability, reliability, interoperability, and security.
• Communicate project health, risks and issues to stakeholders and management teams.
• Escalate urgent issues and drive them to closure in a timely manner.
• Provide visualizations, document results, and communicate across project teams.
