Job summary

SpaceX Bastrop factory is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to support PCB production, machine and facilities maintenance, and silicon packaging operations. The role emphasizes safe, reliable manufacturing in a fast-paced environment focused on yield, cost reduction, and process improvement.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience in high-volume manufacturing, excel at reading schematics, and can perform preventive maintenance with basic metrology tools. OSHA/LOTO safety awareness is required.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, drawings, and schematics.
• Experience with preventive maintenance and calibration of equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks per work instructions and safety standards in a high-volume manufac­turing setting.
• Operate production equipment and monitor process conditions.
• Troubleshoot equipment and tooling; coordinate with maintenance/engineering to determine root cause of downtime.
• Use calipers, micrometers, and test equipment for calibration and inspection.
• Read and interpret schematics, drawings, and parts lists.
• Follow lock-out/tag-out procedures and JHAs in the assigned area.
• Conduct quality inspections and identify defects/non-conformities.
• Perform preventive maintenance and track consumables inventory.
• Record work in Warp, Factory Manual, and related systems.
• Support root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve OEE.
• Suggest improvements to reduce downtime and increase yield.
• Uphold 5S standards and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Cross-train and rotate across tasks as production demands shift.
