Job summary

SpaceX Bastrop facility is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to support PCB production, machine maintenance and silicon packaging in a fast-paced factory environment.

The role requires reading work instructions and schematics, using precision tools, performing inspections, and supporting ongoing root-cause analysis to reduce downtime while upholding 5S standards and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency
• Associate degree preferred and 2+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing/maintenance/facilities or related technical field.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, drawings, schematics, and parts lists.
• Experience with hand and power tools and basic precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, multimeters).
• Familiarity with MES/ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• OSHA 10/30, forklift, or similar safety certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks to instructions and safety standards in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Operate production equipment, start/stop procedures, monitor conditions and control systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment with maintenance/engineering teams to reduce downtime.
• Use calipers, micrometers and test equipment for calibration, inspection and repair.
• Read schematics and layouts; follow lock-out/tag-out procedures.
• Maintain 5S and safe work practices; document work orders and logs.
• Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve OEE.
• Assist training and cross-train team members as production needs shift.
