Job summary

Inversion seeks a Full Stack Engineer II to build internal software tools that empower our engineering teams to innovate and operate more effectively. You will touch front‑end interfaces and robust backend services across the stack, shaping high‑quality internal products in a cross‑functional setting.

This role reports to the Director of Software and requires in‑office presence at our Playa Vista, CA headquarters.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping production‑quality software.
• Strong front‑end development with TypeScript/JavaScript and React.
• Backend experience with Python, Node.js, or Go and API design skills.
• Solid fundamentals: design, testing, debugging, code quality, maintainability.
• Familiarity with Linux development and CI/CD workflows.
• Ability to work in high ambiguity and evolving priorities.
• Occasional extended hours or weekend work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain internal web applications and tooling for engineering workflows.
• Own end‑to‑end lifecycle: definition, design, implementation, testing, deployment, maintenance.
• Create intuitive UI/UX for technical users with emphasis on speed and clarity.
• Develop backend services, APIs, and integrations for dashboards, docs, and AI workflows.
• Collaborate with engineers to translate loosely defined needs into products.
• Uphold best practices for internal app development, testing, and code quality.
• Contribute to evolution of Internal Software Tools and technical approach.
