Job summary

Inversion seeks a Senior Full Stack Engineer to design and build internal software tools for engineering teams. You will own internal applications across the stack, from UI to backend services and integrations, partnering with technical users to shape high-quality tools.

Reporting to the Director of Software, you will define requirements, drive implementation, and contribute to long-term product direction. This is an in-office role at our Playa Vista, CA headquarters.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience building backend systems, APIs, or internal tools using Python, Node.js, or Go.
• Strong fundamentals: design, testing, debugging, code quality.
• Familiarity with Linux development and CI/CD workflows.
• Comfort working in high-ambiguity environments with shifting priorities.
• Position may require occasional extended hours and/or weekend work.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain internal web applications and tooling for engineering workflows.
• Own end-to-end lifecycle of internal tools from problem definition to maintenance.
• Build intuitive UIs and workflows for technical users prioritizing usability and speed.
• Develop backend services, APIs, and integrations for dashboards, data review tools, and AI-enabled workflows.
• Collaborate with engineers to translate needs into internal products.
• Define best practices for architecture, testing, code quality, and maintainability.
• Contribute to the long-term product and technical direction of the Internal Software Tools team.
