Job summary

Viasat is seeking an experienced engineer for its Advanced Electronics team in the United States. You will develop and integrate embedded software for satellite-related platforms, including Linux/RTOS environments, drivers, and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience with C/C++
• Experience with multi-threaded applications and inter-process communication
• Understanding of real-time concepts on embedded Linux or RTOS platforms
• US Citizenship required
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate embedded software in C/C++ and Rust
• Build and integrate with embedded and system test software in C/C++ and Python
• Develop Linux OS applications in Python, C/C++, and Rust
• Develop FreeRTOS applications in C/C++ and Rust
• Create applications for microprocessors, embedded processors, and FPGAs
• Design and implement bare metal embedded device drivers
• Debug and resolve complex integration issues
• Design CI/CD infrastructure and automation services
• Identify opportunities to improve product reliability and security
• Lead design reviews and documentation tasks
• Work within an Agile SCRUM framework
• Operate autonomously to solve well-defined problems
