Job summary

Viasat Government is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join a small, fast-paced SNS team. You will develop software for encrypted communications systems, interfacing with system, test, and hardware engineers to transition capabilities into service.

The role emphasizes C/C++, Rust, Linux in embedded environments, TCP/IP, Agile Scrum, CI/CD, and driver development for bare metal devices and Linux kernels. A US security clearance is required. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• At least 2-3 years of design and implementation experience with embedded software in C/C++.
• At least 1 year Linux OS use, ideally for an embedded environment.
• Familiarity with Linux kernel driver development/modifications.
• Rust experience is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or a related field.
• US citizenship and an active SECRET or TOP SECRET security clearance.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.
