Job summary

Vast is seeking an Avionics Manufacturing Engineer to support the development and manufacture of avionics assemblies and components for space products. The role reports to the Senior Avionics Manufacturing Engineer and is located in Long Beach, CA.

The candidate will work with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability, assembly, testing, and integration, while driving quality, cost efficiency, and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years in manufacturing engineering in aerospace/avionics/satellite/electronic warfare systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design teams on manufacturability and assembly of avionics hardware.
• Develop manufacturing processes for avionics hardware and NPI.
• Sustain legacy products while improving processes to meet timelines and quality.
• Create manufacturing plans, procedures, and work instructions.
• Design tooling to improve production, inspection, and safety.
• Conduct RCCA to resolve manufacturing challenges.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of avionics components.
• Hands-on assembly, integration, and testing per specs.
• Participate in design reviews to improve manufacturability and reliability.
• Maintain quality control processes with QA teams.
• Mentor junior team members on avionics manufacturing.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices.
