Job summary

Vast is seeking an Avionics Manufacturing Engineer, Solar Array, to bring solar arrays and avionics hardware from design into full-scale production at our Long Beach site. You will partner with cross-functional design and test teams to drive manufacturability, tooling, and process development for space-grade hardware.

This full-time role requires hands-on assembly, strong problem solving, and the ability to own key milestones from concept through acceptance testing, while upholding the highest

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering field.
• 2+ years in solar array manufacturing (bonding, composites, harness, electro‑mechanical assembly).
• Experience in tooling and GSE design/manufacturing.
• Proven project management experience with milestone delivery.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design teams on manufacturability of solar arrays.
• Develop manufacturing processes for solar array production and integration.
• Create manufacturing plans, procedures, and work instructions.
• Design tooling to improve production and testing.
• Support environmental and deployment testing.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Improve process efficiency, quality, and cost.
• Coordinate with suppliers for component delivery.
• Hands-on assembly, integration, and testing.
• Participate in design reviews for manufacturability.
• Establish and maintain quality control processes.
• Mentor colleagues on manufacturing best practices.
