Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation seeks a technically skilled engineer to advance space architecture design, orbital analysis, and optimization for nationwide space programs. You will use a mix of analysis tools and modeling techniques to inform portfolio decisions and support government customers.

With a BS and 4+ years of experience across space engineering disciplines, you will lead small teams, mentor staff, and occasionally travel to support customer efforts while maintaining a TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in aerospace, astronautical, or mechanical engineering, physics, operations research, mathematics, or a related field.
• Four+ years of relevant and progressive professional experience.
• Experience with constellation design, orbital mechanics, or mathematics related to satellite access geometry.
• Significant history of making effective contributions to a wide range of technical analysis or development projects.
• Ability to support multiple programs and act as a technical point‑of‑contact.
• Lead and mentor small teams in routine analysis and development tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide subject matter expertise in space architecture design and optimization, space network design, orbital analysis, and space security and defense.
• Utilize in‑house and off‑the‑shelf engineering analysis tools to deliver insights through deep dives, trade studies, and assessments.
• Contribute to expanding department optimization capabilities across mission domains and architectures.
• Develop and present timely, technically accurate analyses and reports to technical leads, management, and customers.
• Build and maintain customer relationships with cross‑organization partners, government customers, and contractor teammates.
• Mentor junior staff and support department growth; travel as needed.
