Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is hiring for a Sr. Member of the Technical Staff to lead space architecture design and optimization efforts. You will work with government customers to deliver engineering analyses, portfolio assessments, and actionable recommendations using Python, C, C++, and MATLAB.

Minimum requirements include a B.S. in a relevant field and 4+ years of experience, with eligibility for a TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in aerospace, astronautical, or mechanical engineering, physics, operations research, mathematics, or a related field.
• Four+ years of relevant and progressive professional experience.
• Experience with constellation design, orbital mechanics, or mathematics related to satellite access geometry.
• History of contributions to a range of technical analysis or development projects.
• Ability to support multiple programs and act as a technical POC.
• Lead and mentor small teams in routine analysis and development tasks.
• Knowledge of Python, C, C++, MATLAB, or another programming language.
• Ability to obtain/maintain TS/SCI clearance; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Independently and collaboratively provide SME to program offices and government customers in space architecture design and optimization, space network design, orbital analysis, and space security.
• Leverage in-house and external tools to deliver insights through deep dives, trade studies, and assessments.
• Help expand department optimization capabilities across mission domains and architectures.
• Develop and present timely, technically accurate analyses and recommendations to leads and customers.
• Build strong customer relationships with cross-organization partners and contractors.
• Identify opportunities to sustain and grow simulation/analysis capabilities for new areas.
• Mentor junior staff in department capability areas and travel for customer support as needed.
