Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation seeks a Sr. Member of the Technical Staff in Chantilly, VA / El Segundo, CA / Colorado Springs, CO to perform space architecture design, optimization, and portfolio analysis.

You will run simulations, conduct trade studies, and deliver actionable insights for a diverse customer base. You will develop analysis tools and communicate results to technical leads and customers, collaborating with cross-organizational partners.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in aerospace, astronautical, or mechanical engineering, physics, operations research, mathematics, or a related field of science or engineering.
• Advanced degree or 2+ years of relevant and progressive professional or academic experience.
• Experience with constellation design, orbital mechanics, or mathematics related to satellite access geometry.
• Knowledge of Python, C, C++, MATLAB, or another programming language.
• Significant history of making effective contributions to a wide range of technical analysis or development projects.
• Ability to support multiple programs and/or activities, acting as a technical contributor across both individual and broader team efforts.
• This position requires a Current or Active TS/SCI

Responsibilities

• Independently and collaboratively conducting deep dives, trade studies, and assessments to define and address customer needs in space architecture design and optimization.
• Leveraging in-house and off-the-shelf engineering analysis tools to deliver technical insights through analytical deep dives, trade studies, and assessments.
• Contributing to the development of analysis software tools and pursuing opportunities to enhance simulation and analysis capabilities.
• Developing and presenting timely and accurate analyses and reports for technical leads and customers.
• Building and maintaining relationships with government customers and contractor teammates
