Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC in Redmond, WA seeks a Software Development Engineer to design and implement software that controls star-tracker flight hardware, performs real-time control, Linux integration, and OTA updates for hundreds of satellites.

You will work across hardware, software, and operations teams to build fault-tolerant systems, testbeds, and deployment pipelines while delivering reliable in-space software in a highly dynamic environment. U.S. export controls apply.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development lifecycle experience.
• C and/or C++ with memory management and concurrency for embedded devices.
• Experience with Linux-based development environments and test frameworks.
• Python for test automation or tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize flight software for Star Tracker systems in Linux.
• Architect fault-tolerant software with health monitoring and autonomous recovery.
• Build and maintain hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop testbeds and automation.
• Own end-to-end embedded software delivery from requirements to deployment.
• Collaborate with hardware, systems, and operations teams for high-speed optical comms.
• Develop autonomous operational behaviors for satellite fault handling.
• Improve OTA update processes for safe, scalable satellite deployments.
