Job summary

Argotec in California is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our space hardware team. You will work under the Senior Electronics Engineer, performing microelectronics hand-soldering, harness fabrication, lab setup, and facility support in a fast-paced R&D environment.

Responsibilities include precision assembly and rework, inspection with microscopes, bonding and conformal coating, inventory management, and supporting RF/environmental tests.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent practical experience in electronics.
• At least 3 years hands-on experience in electronic assembly and lab support in a production or R&D environment.
• U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency is required.
• Excellent written and oral communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision assembly and rework of PCAs, cable harnesses, RF interconnects, and mechanical assemblies per IPC/NASA standards.
• Inspect assembled hardware using microscopes and measurement tools for workmanship and compliance with drawings.
• Apply bonding and finishing processes including conformal coating and structural adhesives per specifications.
• Manage inventory of electronic components and lab materials, track and document builds and tests.
• Assemble and maintain lab infrastructure, test benches, and facility support systems.
• Support engineering test activities including setup, execution, and teardown of RF and environmental tests.
• Operate and maintain lab instrumentation and RF/test equipment.
• Follow safety, quality, and traceability processes; maintain ESD-safe environments.
