Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. seeks electrical engineers to design and analyze high-performance space-qualified electronics for operation in GEO, MEO, LEO and Cislunar environments. The team focuses on laser communications, space electronics and sensors with a strong emphasis on reliability and test.

Positions require advanced design skills, experience with PCB layouts, and the ability to work within budget and schedule constraints while complying with ITAR/EAR requirements.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering with minimum 8 years of experience or a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience can be considered instead of a master’s degree
  • Experience in design, analysis, integration, and test of custom electronics
  • Proficiency in electrical design software and simulation tools (such as Altium, SPICE, MATLAB, Simulink, HyperLynx, and MS Office)
  • Ability to conduct circuit analysis and simulation to optimize performance and reliability

Responsibilities

  • Design custom high speed digital electronics including the use of ADCs, DACs, FPGAs, processors, and communications drivers
  • Design, and conduct analysis of, analog circuits including low-noise signal conditioning and power amplifiers
  • Provide expertise to both product development and R&D efforts
  • Collaborate with peers, leads, and managers to develop, review, and refine designs and analyses to meet program technical needs within defined time and budget constraints
  • Work within a broad-disciplined program team providing expertise in support of electronics manufacturing and test.
  • Other duties as assigned
