Job summary

Varda Space is offering an Environmental Health & Safety internship in El Segundo, CA. You will work on leading JHAs, ensuring safe handling of hazardous materials, and maintaining regulatory compliance within a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in occupational safety & health, environmental engineering/safety, or related field
• Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently, in a fast-paced work environment

Responsibilities

• Lead JHAs across engineering, manufacturing, and pharma ops to identify risks and implement controls
• Drive safe handling of hazardous chemicals through HazCom and PPE programs
• Maintain environmental compliance by guiding departments in disposal of hazardous waste
• Inspect safety systems and equipment including eyewashes, showers, and extinguishers
• Assist with emergency plans, drills, and training.
