Job summary

Vets Hired is seeking a Deputy Program Manager to support the Program Manager in planning, executing, and managing complex defense and space programs. You will provide day-to-day leadership for operations, workforce management, scheduling, and risk management to ensure successful contract execution and operational readiness.

Responsibilities include staffing, subcontractor coordination, IMS development, performance tracking, and liaison with government stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM, business, management, or related field.
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI and SAP access.
• 8+ years of DoD/Federal program experience.
• Experience managing programs valued at $25M+.
• 5+ years in space systems or related programs.
• Experience with workforce management, scheduling, resource planning.
• Experience maintaining IMS and program metrics.
• Experience with risk management and performance reporting.
• PMP/PgMP/DAWIA PM or equivalent.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in overall program planning, execution and management.
• Act as Program Manager when required.
• Oversee day-to-day program operations and contract execution.
• Manage staffing, workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding and resource allocation.
• Coordinate subcontractor activities and mission support efforts.
• Develop and maintain Integrated Master Schedules (IMS).
• Monitor program performance, schedules, budgets and resources.
• Track program risks, mitigation plans and performance metrics.
• Support operational readiness, sustainment, and lifecycle planning.
• Coordinate with government stakeholders and mission partners.
• Prepare program reports and performance updates for leadership.
• Ensure quality assurance and successful delivery of contract requirements.
