Job summary

KBR is seeking a competent Drafting Technician to work with Engineers and designers to prepare 2D and 3D CAD drawings, schematics, and models for technical documentation in a defense-focused setting. The role involves evolving drafting standards and supporting CAD processes to meet project needs.

Responsibilities include producing complex layouts, ensuring compliance with design requirements, and coordinating resources across projects.

Qualifications

5 years of mechanical drawing, CAD, and illustrative design or commercial art experience.
2 years’ experience with AutoCAD v14 or later.
2 years of experience preparing and revising drawings, schematics, logic diagrams, and block diagrams.
Training in Graphics Arts, Industrial Design, or Engineering Design.
Must have or be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
2 years’ experience with Autodesk Inventor 2019 version or later.
Familiar with Autodesk Vault (CAD data management) software.

Responsibilities

Prepare manufacturing layout drawings, electrical drawings, schematics, illustrations, and 3D models.
Develop equipment, accessory fabrication, and assembly drawings within dimensional limits.
Check drawings for compliance with standards and resolve drafting issues.
Provide production CAD support and organize the CAD environment.
Develop and manage drafting processes, standards, and document control.
Coordinate drafting resources on program projects.
