Job summary

Rocket Lab in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Composites Technician I-III to support basic composite layouts, bagging prep, vacuum bag processing, bonding, and autoclave curing. You’ll work on laminate assemblies, set reference points with precision tools, and assist on aerospace components for space missions.

The role covers various levels from Technician I to III, with duties expanding from entry tasks to experienced fabrication and inspection.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required for all levels.
2+ years of experience with composites or laminations for Technician II.
5+ years of experience with composites or laminations for Technician III.
Standing for long periods, climbing ladders, and occasional lifting up to 25 lbs may be required.

Responsibilities

Assembly of structures including setup, bonding and fastener applications.
Laminate assemblies by determining proper placement of composite materials.
Prepare parts for bagging, including placement of bleeders, thermocouples, probes and vacuum connections.
Vacuum bag processing, bonding, and oven/autoclave curing.
Make basic layouts on parts to establish reference points and check dimensions with precision tools.
Fit Honeycomb, foam and syntactic core and integrate mechanical hardware.
Perform other standard composite techniques as required by aerospace manufacturing.
