Job summary

Rocket Lab in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Composites Technician I-III to support composite layups, bagging prep, and curing processes. You will work on structures, laminates, and integration tasks within our Space Systems team.

This role offers hands-on manufacturing in a fast-paced space environment. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and 2+ years in composites for II/III levels, with strong attention to detail and ability to read prints.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience with composites or laminations preferred.
  • Ability to read drawings and use precision measuring tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assembly of structures including setup, bonding and fastener applications
  • Laminate assemblies by determining proper placement of composite materials
  • Prepare parts for bagging, including placement of bleeders, thermocouples, probes and vacuum connections
  • Vacuum bag processing, bonding, and oven/autoclave curing
  • Making basic layouts to establish reference points and check dimensions using calipers, micrometers, precision scales and torque wrenches
  • Fitting of Honeycomb, foam and syntactic core
  • Fitting and refurbishment of thermal protection systems.
  • Integration of mechanical hardware
  • Perform other standard composite and integration building techniques as required
  • You may be requested to work on other Rocket Lab products in the local area or travel as required
