Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Space-based phenomenology Lead (Project Engineer/Senior Project Engineer – Systems Engineering) to support the National Reconnaissance Office and CSPO. The role focuses on evaluating commercial space-based sensor capabilities and integrating them into national security architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, or science required.
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant technical experience for Project Engineer role.
• Strong understanding of space-based architectures and sensor phenomenologies.
• Ability to lead technical teams and communicate with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead evaluations of space-based sensor capabilities for integration into national security architectures.
• Provide independent recommendations to Aerospace and Government customers.
• Collaborate with non-traditional space companies to assess technologies.
• Oversee task execution, budgets, and status reporting to customers and management.
• Influence investments in commercial technology within NRO and IC ecosystems.
• Guide matrixed technical resources to address multi-disciplinary topics.
• Operate in a fast-paced environment requiring strategic thinking and collaboration.
