Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Cislunar Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Systems Engineer (Multi-Phenomenology) in Chantilly, VA. This SME role focuses on EO/RF sensing, telescope/receiver design, and multi-phenomenology observational tech to support detection, tracking, and characterization of objects in the cislunar regime.

The candidate will lead system-level requirements, participate in lifecycle reviews, and interface with DOD and industry partners in a fast-paced acquisition environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 14+ years experience in systems engineering or related field.
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, team building and problem-solving skills in a government/contractor team environment.
• Experience providing systems engineering support for satellite ground systems deployment and integration.
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment with DOD, military personnel and industry partners.
• Ability to facilitate technical discussions with SMEs and communicate with senior decision makers.
• Active TS/SCI clearance required; SAP experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree required / Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of system level requirements for assigned systems and their design features.
• Support full lifecycle engineering reviews to demonstrate design conformance to specifications and customer requirements.
• Review CDRL deliverables for content accuracy and sufficiency of design details.
• Participate in technical interchange meetings between developers and contractors.
• Evaluate proposals and review technical reports, design artifacts, and program plans.
• Act as a systems engineering liaison to the SPO and other divisions.
• Conduct trade studies to define and refine requirements for future satellite capabilities.
• Support acquisition documentation development (CDRLs, SOWs, MPPs) related to ground systems.
• Assist readiness and major program reviews to evaluate ground system readiness.
• Develop documents and briefings for status updates to Government and industry.
• Provide technical insight for EO/RF sensor designs and evaluate next-gen sensor architectures.
• Support integration of ground- and space-based sensor systems into existing sensing networks.
