Job summary

Logos Space in Mountain View, CA or San Diego, CA is seeking a senior Avionics Design Engineer to architect and field high-bandwidth flight processing units for our LEO satellite network.

You will own flight hardware across its lifecycle, collaborate with Flight Software, RF, Mechanical and Thermal teams, and lead tests from environmental qualification to on-orbit bring-up. US citizenship or permanent residency is required. Relocation assistance is provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related STEM field.
• 5+ years hands-on digital electrical design and hardware analysis.
• Experience with high-speed digital interfaces (DDR4/DDR5, 1G/10G Ethernet, PCIe) and buses (CAN, RS-422/RS-485, SPI, I2C).
• 3+ years SI/PI analysis using modeling tools (Ansys SIwave, HyperLynx).
• Advanced ECAD with schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium Designer).
• Space/high-reliability rigor: WCCA, derating, and parts stress evaluation.
• Lab emphasis: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power supplies.
• U.S. Person Status: U.S. citizen or permanent resident (ITAR/EAR).

Responsibilities

• End-to-End Design Ownership: Architect and design flight avionics and high-speed boards from concept to bring-up.
• Advanced Analysis: Perform SI, PI, WCCA/Monte Carlo, and derating analyses for space reliability.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Flight Software, RF, Mechanical, and Thermal teams to optimize systems.
• Manufacturing & Bring-Up: Coordinate with CM for DFM/DFA, PCBA assembly, prototyping, and lab troubleshooting.
• Validation & Flight Qualification: Lead environmental tests and create specs, procedures, and reports.
