Mining Exchange Hotel was built in 1902 as a stock exchange for local mining companies, The Mining Exchange Hotel offers a one-of-a-kind experience in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs. Our elegant, yet casual public spaces, and guestrooms are all newly renovated.
Job Role
At Practice Hospitality, our Spa Supervisor leads the team of Spa Associates and Technicians and manages the operations of the Spa department, ensuring that all members and guests receive five-star service when visiting.
Responsibilities:
- Operate the Spa department efficiently, effectively and with five-star service.
- Warmly welcome all guests when they arrive and offer a fond farewell when they depart.
- Answer incoming calls and emails promptly, provide accurate information and handle requests as appropriate.
- In-depth knowledge of all spa offerings: services, product knowledge, packages, and programs. With the ability to encourage and excite the team toward increased retail sales.
- Sell spa merchandise, assist customers in the shop, and employ suggestive selling.
- Inform and prepare your team for each day’s calendar of appointments/events/parties, etc.
- Work at the Spa reception desk, multi-tasking reception duties and Supervisor duties.
- Schedule Technicians based upon demand and occupancy trends – maximize Technicians’ service time and minimize down time.
- Ensure all service protocols are trained and followed.
- Maintain department facilities, equipment and amenities in five-star condition at all times.
- Creatively drive revenues; attract new clients and retain/sell more to existing clients.
- Work with Spa Director to promote spa services, gift cards, events and special holidays like Valentine’s, Mother’s Day and Christmas.
- Ensure accurate POS transactions for all purchases and session/package redemptions.
- Carefully manage all expenses, from labor and ordering supplies, to achieve targeted net profit.
- Oversee and contribute to spa communications regarding spa and hotel interdepartmental information by maintaining breakroom communication board, posting provider schedules, managing praise and on-going communication, new procedures, and updates. You will also need to be comfortable communicating and presenting in front of the entire spa team.
- Provide on-going training to increase staff knowledge and guest interaction standards and monthly team audits, in coordination with the Director of Spa.
- Assist with the planning of monthly spa team meetings.
- Manage the spa retail purchasing and inventory process, per SOPs.
- Regularly audit the spa pages on web site to ensure accuracy.
- Handle all client requests or customer service recovery opportunities in a timely and professional manner.
- Trains, coaches and evaluates staff.
- Oversees the maintenance of the spa, including overall cleanliness.
- Maintain current knowledge of all spa services, pricings, offerings, schedules, specials, and other services provided at the spa
- Assists with retail and professional product orders.
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned
- Respond to guest inquiries and requests and resolve issues in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
Requirements
Basic Qualifications & Skills
- High School Diploma (or equivalent education/experience)
- Previous spa experience
- Must be flexible regarding schedule, based on business demands
- Previous experience demonstrating strong customer service
- Successful completions of a criminal background check
- Five-star customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and selling skills.
- Proficient computer skills; able to learn new software and systems efficiently.
- Experience working for or managing a day spa.
- Experience working for a high-end, high-touch, service-oriented business is a plus.
- Experience leading a team and being a part of a high-performing team.
- Outgoing, friendly personality with ability to work with and serve all kinds of people.
- Responsible and accountable; self-motivated.
- High energy with a positive outlook.
- Goal-oriented and resourceful.

Job Type: FLSA Designation: Full Time-Non-Exempt
Compensation: $19.00 per hour
