Job summary

Seaboard Foods is seeking a Department Team Lead to work under the Farm Supervisor, caring for swine and assisting in supervising nursery or finisher department staff. The role emphasizes SOP adherence, herd health, and hands-on training for a competent workforce.

The position involves supervising and scheduling teams, maintaining records, and ensuring timely reports, safety protocols, and proper biosecurity on a Kansas farm. Opportunities include growth within a major pork producer.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all standard operating procedures are followed and facilities are in good working condition.
• Maintain high herd health and adhere to biosecurity and proper feeding of animals.
• Train employees on day-to-day processes to develop a competent workforce.
• Supervising and scheduling groups of employees and acting as manager when the supervisor is not present
• Maintain accurate records and reports of animals, employees, and supplies on the farm.
• Assist and ensure that all weekly and daily reports are turned in timely and accurately.
• Adhere to all safety procedures.
• Follow the assigned medication and vaccination protocols for the farm.
• Maintain the alarm system and all emergency systems and answer alarm calls properly

Required

Qualifications

• Associate degree (A.A) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be proficient in English language, reading and writing.

Schedule

The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends and overnight travel as requested

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is commonly exposed to airborne particles and gases at low concentrations. The employee is frequently exposed to waste material, feed, and hog dust.
